Work
Margaret, a Partner since 1998, heads the Penrith office and the Provincial Group and is a member of the management team. She has lived in Cumbria for most of her life and been involved in the business community in Penrith for over 25 years. Margaret was a late starter into accountancy, having been involved in the family business for some years. She wanted to progress her career and the opportunities available at Armstrong Watson enabled her to develop her skills and knowledge. Margaret moved up to partnership within two years and has taken on further responsibility since then. She enjoys both the client and management aspects of her role, and the issues that arise in one can often help the other. She never knows from one day to the other what the next phone call will bring and enjoys the challenge. Margaret believes the wide range of advice we give our clients helps them to resolve their problems and develop their own businesses. Margaret finds the fact that we have the expertise in house a great advantage in her ability to deliver, a benefit that is readily passed onto our clients.
Play
In what little time Margaret has outside work she spends relaxing with family and friends. She particularly enjoys escaping to the sun or even the snow. A good book, good wine (and especially champagne) definitely help her to relax and unwind.
