Career Case Studies
Endless opportunities
Michael Nelson - Trainee Chartered Accountant
I started working with the firm in the summer of 2005, after graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in mathematics and statistics.
After just 27 months I passed my final exams and have now completed all the Institute's requirements for admission as a fully qualified Chartered Accountant.
Throughout my training I have received fantastic support from many people in the firm.
I am currently working as audit senior and I know there will be endless opportunities to further my career within the firm.
Very honoured
Laura Howes - Accountancy Trainee
I left college at the age of 18 without knowing what career I wanted. I only knew I didn't want to go to University and be in debt for the next ten years!
So when I found out about Armstrong Watson's training scheme I thought it would be ideal. For the past six years I have learnt not only the technical side of accountancy, but also how to liaise with clients in varying situations, as well as professional etiquette with both clients and colleagues.
I feel very honoured to be ACA qualified at just 24 years old and to have acquired such a vast range of experience. That is entirely down to the Armstrong Watson training scheme.
