Inheritance Tax

Inheritance Tax (IHT) hits families at a particularly difficult time when they have suffered a bereavement. In order to minimise or avoid a large tax bill, it is best to plan well in advance at a time when you can examine your wishes dispassionately and take specialist advice from one of our experts on how best to plan ahead.

We are very experienced in designing appropriate IHT planning solutions that are best placed to deal with your family’s needs.

Sometimes it will involve gifts or trusts or perhaps a new Will. On other occasions it might mean that you should consider changes to your investment strategies.

Our tax specialists work closely with our in-house financial advisers so that we can make available both types of solutions and recommend those which meet your circumstances. Very often the best advice is a combination of different approaches.

We will also liaise closely with your solicitor to ensure that an appropriate Will is in place to provide the best tax position as well as to provide for your wishes.
