We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded Xero cloud accounting software provider’s ‘UK Accounting Partner of the Year’ at the Xerocon International Conference held in London.

This accolade follows our migration of several thousand clients onto the cloud accounting platform in readiness for the HMRC’s forthcoming ‘Making Tax Digital’ rollout.

Armstrong Watson embarked on a mass education programme with Xero to train more than 200 members of staff and our dedication to fundamentally change the way client records are processed has resulted in an industry-leading practice with tremendous business growth. The migration also confirms our status as Xero’s largest UK accounting partner and one of the UK’s most digitally progressive firms.

Partner and Head of Accounting, Richard Andrew, was delighted with the win,

“We took the decision in early 2016 that we needed to be more innovative in our approach and embarked on an ambitious plan to overhaul the way in which we worked.  Xero accounting software was the platform in which we chose to build our process around. Winning this award is fantastic recognition for all the hard work from the team at Armstrong Watson in helping deliver this ambitious plan.”

Armstrong Watson Lead Partner, Paul Dickson, also added,

“It is fantastic that Armstrong Watson have been recognised by Xero as the ‘Accounting Partner of the Year’.

I am really proud of everyone in our Accounting service line as they do a great job and have embraced our move to provide a forward thinking technology-based accounting concept that will help our clients run more successful and profitable businesses.

One of our strategic imperatives is to be a firm that innovates, offering a compelling client proposition by finding new and creative solutions. As a result, Armstrong Watson has more clients using a cloud based accounting platform than any other firm in the UK.

This initiative has been led by Richard Andrew, Grant Smith and Toby Woodhead who were in London to collect the award.  They should be very proud of their achievement.”

The transition to Xero cloud accounting is just one phase in Armstrong Watson’s continuing digital development process, with further enhancements to the firm’s proposition coming online in the next financial year, including client performance tracking and benchmarking.

Grant Smith, Accounting Partner also commented:

“Winning Accounting Partner of the Year is such a momentous moment for me personally as it was my goal from 2011 to help Armstrong Watson become one of the biggest cloud accountants in the UK, enabling us to deliver cutting edge advice to our clients. Now that this has been achieved we now need to move the needle even more.”
