Capital Allowances
Maximising capital allowance claims is vital whether you’re constructing or expanding a property, or purchasing a second hand property.
By maximising the claim to this relief, the business obtains tax relief much faster than it would do otherwise.
The capital allowance rules and relief rates are constantly changing so the timing and type of capital expenditure is vital.
We can ensure that whatever your reasons for your expenditure, the tax you pay is mimimised and the capital allowances tax relief is maximised. There are numerous changes around the corner in respect of capital allowances, impacting both the amount and the timing of claims. Most if not all of these changes will apply from April 2012 so we recommend that careful thought is given to the timing of expenditure and ensuring all possible claims have been made. For more information on the changes have a look at our Capital Allowances leaflet by clicking here.

Land Remediation Relief
For companies, an enhanced relief known as Land Remediation Relief for derelict or contaminated land may be available. We can help you identify where you might qualify for this form of tax relief and work with you to maximise your claim. This relief is no longer set for abolition and remains an important, albeit under utilised tax relief for companies.

Our tax teams are experts in minimising the SDLT charge on a property and ensuring all the VAT issues have been considered. There are many complexities when dealing with property transactions and we can ensure that the transaction process goes smoothly, and that tax paid is minimised.
