Armstrong Watson sponsored a successful Social Media for Business conference at Waterside House in Barrow-in-Furness on Friday 1 July. The conference, organised by the Evening Mail in association with Furness Enterprise and Armstrong Watson, guided businesses, charities and other organisations through the benefits of social media and how to make the most of networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
More than 70 attendees from local businesses gathered at the event to listen to speakers such as Nick Turner, digital strategy manager for CN Group; Andrew Armitage, of Kendal-based web company Armitage Online; and Paul Teague, an internet marketing expert advise them on how to utilise these online tools for their benefit whilst avoiding the potential pitfalls.
The event was also supported by local ‘digital champions’; local business leaders experienced in social networking who led a networking session to put their new knowledge into practice.
