Armstrong Watson is pleased to announce the appointment of its VAT Director, Tim Fife, as the new Chairman of the North of England Chapter of the VPG following a unanimous decision by his fellow members. Tim has been a member of the VPG since 1 April 1996.
Tim was appointed Chairman on 20 July and chaired his first meeting in September.
The position of Chairman gives Tim a seat on the National Council of the VPG which meets four times a year in London.
Tim says, “I am honoured to accept this prestigious position, the VPG is a well respected organisation within the field of VAT, and to be appointed by my fellow professionals is reflection of their respect. My goal is to expand the membership and to continue to ensure that the taxpayer’s voice is represented when changes to law are considered.”
The VPG membership is comprised of specialists from the VAT profession, leading law firms, industry, major retailers and commerce. Through its diverse technical sub-committees the VPG can exercise considerable influence upon HM Revenue & Customs, the Judiciary and Government itself.
