Northern based Accountancy and Financial Advisers Armstrong Watson is for the first time ever taking on a mammoth challenge to walk the length of Hadrian’s wall in one day, in order to raise money for Tynedale Hospice at Home.
The challenge will take place on Sunday 30th September, where staff at Armstrong Watson will join up with colleagues, clients, friends and family in order to walk the whole length of Hadrian’s Wall in one day. Those taking up the challenge will take an 8-12 mile stretch of the wall to walk, with teams setting off from various starting points along the wall, enabling the entire wall to be walked in just one day.
Andrew Robinson, Partner at Armstrong Watson said:
‘The Walking the Wall challenge is the biggest fundraiser we have ever attempted from Armstrong Watson in Hexham. It’s going to be a big event, linking up with our Carlisle branches in order to cover the entire wall in one day. We will be walking, running and everything in between on the day to get the distance covered. It gives us the opportunity to get out and do something different while raising money for our client, Tynedale Hospice at Home, who carry out such valuable work in our community.’
Fenwick Kirton-Darling, a Trustee of Tynedale Hospice at Home said:
‘’This is a wonderful effort by the staff of Armstrong Watson and we are very grateful. It reflects the longstanding relationship between the Hospice and the Armstrong Watson team. TynedaleHospice at Home could not function without the generous support of local people and organisations. Our nursing service enables people to be cared for at home, where they wish to be. Our patient transport services takes people to hospital appointments. Our bereavement support service helps both children and adults with the process of loss. The quality of these services is valued by local people and that is recognized by the support which we receive.”
