Our payroll director, Karen Thomson will then guide you through the latest legislation that affects the world of payroll including 'Making Tax Digital' and the possible impact of Brexit in her sector.

Trudy Harrison,  Member of Parliament for Copeland

Trudy will outline her priorities for the Copeland constituency and her plans to deliver the industrial strategy in a post Brexit landscape.

She will also look at the region’s contribution in powering the Northern Powerhouse.

 

Karen Thomson, Payroll Director at Armstrong Watson

Karen will be sharing the latest payroll news to impact employers.  As part of this she will update you with some changes to PAYE for individuals and guidance improvements from HMRC. 

Karen will inform on the apprenticeship levy, changes to the penalty system for HMRC and where the “Making Tax Digital” programme is.  She will also give her views on how Brexit might impact payroll.
