Hosted by Skipton’s Business and Financial Advisers Armstrong Watson Accountants, Yorkshire law firm Gordons and HSBC UK, the event united 40 business figureheads from across the region for this unique occasion, and provided the opportunity to share experiences with fellow commercial leaders and to hear from guest speaker, HSBC UK chief economist, Mark Berrisford-Smith.

Mark is one of HSBC UK’s most senior national commentators on the economy and is responsible for advising the bank in the UK and its business customers on developments in both British and global economies.

Commenting David Richmond, Partner with co-hosts Armstrong Watson said,

“Following the success of last year’s event and the positive response we received from business owners, we were delighted to welcome Mark Berrisford-Smith back to Broughton Hall to offer his latest insight into the current economic environment.

“Yet again, Mark’s learnings resonated incredibly well and we were encouraged by the overwhelming positive feedback we received from business owners who enjoyed the opportunity to share their experiences with like-minded business leaders, all within the opulent surroundings of Broughton Hall.”

Ben Jones, Managing Director of Keighley based Brook Taverner, suppliers of corporate and menswear, added,

“The event provided a welcome chance to hear from a learned expert on the potential impact and outcome of two of the most pressing issues at the top of current economic concerns. It was also refreshing to be able to discuss these matters with other business leaders around the room and understand how they are adapting and reacting to this ongoing economic uncertainty.”
