Case Study: Website developer left unpaid

The Problem

A website developer had a claim against a client who simply refused to pay anything for the work done, which was in the region of about £35k. Many reasons were provided for not paying, but none seemed genuine and it was felt that the company were simply trying to avoid paying.

How Escalate helped

Escalate became involved and when we also received a rebuff after first contact, we simply drafted all court papers and gave the defendant one last chance to pay. He started to talk and offered payment of 95%.

This figure was agreed upon, however the defendant then claimed he wanted to pay in instalments over two years. We refused, and ordered that either full payment or the offered 95% balance needed to be paid within 7 days or we would issue court proceedings. Full payment was made shortly thereafter.

Amount Recieved

£35,000
