Carlisle Youth Zone's 'GET A FUTURE' project, ran in association with Armstrong Watson, has been shortlisted in the Aviva Community Fund and we need YOUR HELP to win £25k.....

With your VOTE we could WIN 25k to continue to help the many disadvantaged young people who don’t have a supportive family at home, struggle academically, or due to poverty, mental health or disability, struggle to focus on their education. These youngsters' aspirations are often low and the dreams and ambitions they might have had as young children have faded.

The GET A FUTURE project encourages businesses to think outside the box by breaking down the “norm” recruitment barriers that today’s modern kid struggles with, by giving young people aged 14-18 years a work experience placement, a job, traineeship, apprenticeship or mentorship. We believe exposing young people to a variety of opportunities; increasing their understanding of industries and the futures they could have in the City will lead to increased aspirations, self-belief and improved confidence.

With the continued support of Aviva funding we really do have a chance to make a difference to young people's lives, however, we’re competing against 173 other organisations to get that opportunity, so every vote really does count!
