Call to Family Businesses to Participate in Largest Survey of its Kind

I read with great interest this week that Government statistics show that applications for Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) - where an individual comes to an agreement with their creditors to pay back their debts over a period of time - have reached their highest level since they were introduced in 1987.  In England there were 15,523 IVAs recorded in England & Wales in the third quarter, rising from 13,290 in the same period a year ago.

I was amazed to see the comment in the press this week that “SME’s dodge the most tax” following figures released from HMRC showing that small to medium sized businesses are responsible for 51% of the £5.2bn “tax gap” between what is owed and what is paid.

This year sees Armstrong Watson celebrate 150 years of supporting, advising and protecting clients. As a thank you for the support we’ve received over the past 150 years, our ‘Face Forward’ project is now touring all our office locations, with showcase events hosted across the regions and all of our clients invited along to celebrate with us.
