Keeping It In The Family - Succession Planning Seminar

This special seminar for CLA members and guests will look at minimising the risks for succession planning in family-run farms – from family fallouts to divorce.

CLA North invites you to a seminar to hear advice and tips from experts from Armstrong Watson Accountants and Silk Family Law on safeguarding your farm and other family assets.

Speakers

Andrew Robinson, Partner and Head of Agriculture at Armstrong Watson, is a well-known expert in advising farming businesses and landed estates, and chairman of the Northern Farming Con-ference. He will talk about personal and corporate risk in family run agricultural businesses, particularly from a tax perspective.

Margaret Simpson, partner at niche family law firm Silk Family Law, is highly regarded for her expertise in handling complex farming and land-owning cases. She will talk about the financial issues arising in a farming business if divorce happens

Wayne Lynn, partner at Silk Family Law, specialises in complex financial issues, including cases involving business assets, trusts and pensions. He will look at the benefits of pre- and post-nuptial agreements for farming families.

CLA Director North Dorothy Fairburn, will introduce the seminar. The morning will end with an expert panel question and answer session chaired by barrister Ian Kennerley, partner at Silk Family Law.
