Legal Sector Breakfast Briefing - Leeds

Armstrong Watson, RBS and Leeds Law Society are holding the next in our regular series of Breakfast Briefings for the Legal Services Market in Leeds via Teams.

Although now using technology, as with our previous events, invites are still being restricted to key decision makers within key regional firms with a select group of regular attendees.  That way we will still attract high quality nationally recognised speakers to present on law firm management issues.

1. Growing your law firm: Here is a long-term strategy that beats the usual ‘instant results’ approach

Law firm success is based on the business and marketing mantra Know->Like->Trust->Buy->Recommend. In the past, many law firms achieved success without even noticing the ‘customer journey’ that their prospects and clients were progressing along.

In 2021, the world has continued its rush to online communication. As a result, marketing departments now pump out more content than ever. But who has time to discover all this content, let alone read it?

This presentation will explain a very different strategy: evergreen content, which is updated every year. Using the websites ‘Law Firm Ambition’ and ‘Law Donut’ as examples, it will show how a few excellent items of content can provide measurable results over multiple years, providing a healthy return on investment (ROI) for those firms that decide to invest some time in the first place. It will also look forward to how law firm’s content marketing will evolve over the next few years.

2. So you have a website. But do you get the best out of it?

One of the mantras at Conscious is “It’s not just about getting a good website, it’s about what you do with it once you have it”.  Getting the best out of your website ensures that the firm is maximising it’s ROI on whatever your investment is in digital marketing.

This part of the session will look at the latest trends in law firm websites, all things ‘digital, and linking back to the strategy outlined in the first part of the briefing.

Speaker Profiles

Rory MccGwire

Rory MccGwire founded Atom Content Marketing 30 years ago. After obtaining his law degree, his early career was in venture capital (3i) and the Tokyo stock market (Smith New Court).

Although the term ‘content marketing’ was not coined until 1996 and was not in common use until much later, Rory has been doing content marketing for his customer organisations since 1991 - and of course the concept itself is not a new one. Atom partnered 50:50 with Thomson Reuters to prepare the content for the massive businesslink.gov website 2002-2011, but the company is now best known for its Donut business advice websites.

David Gilroy

David Gilroy is the Managing Director of Stuff & Things (aka Managing Director) at Conscious Solutions. He is one of the company’s founders & has personally worked with over 300 law firms on their digital marketing strategies including website design, email marketing, lead conversion, social media, SEO, PPC and CRM.

He is an acknowledged, engaging, challenging, popular and occasionally rude presenter at legal marketing and in-house seminars all over the UK.
