Online Event
Progressive Yorkshire cattle, pig and sheep farmer Jim Beary joins us for the next episode of 'An Audience With...' on Wednesday 24th March at the later time of 7-8pm.
Jim has transformed his upland farm since taking his tenancy on in 2018. Making the best of what the farm has and keeping costs down have been key to his success. Amongst other things, Jim has installed rotational grazing, looked at soil health, introduced mixed enterprises to spread costs as well as various improvements in farm infrastructure.
He has gradually doubled his stocking rates and managed to cut lamb production costs by a hefty 30% since his move to Yorkshire from his previous farm tenancy in Staffordshire.
Jim' story of hard work, resilience and success is a genuine inspiration for anyone looking to get into farming and we are looking forward to hearing more about how he persisted, his tips for efficiency as well as how farming differs in the two very different landscapes he has worked within.
Once again, Andrew Robinson, our Head of Agriculture will be hosting this online event. Please register below for this free event. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.
We'd encourage you to submit any questions in advance that you would like to ask Jim or any one of our Agri team and we will do our best to answer them during the course of the event.
