About Gary

In a career spanning more than 25 years, Gary has advised high net worth individuals, owner-managed businesses and professional intermediaries across a wide range of sectors from construction to music and entertainment.

Gary joined Armstrong Watson’s Private Client Team in 2025, having previously worked at large accountancy practices and specialist tax advisory businesses. He trained as a tax inspector with HM Revenue & Customs and has gone on to become a recognised expert in tax dispute resolution. Gary uses those skills to proactively solve complex problems for clients. 

Gary chairs the Tax Investigation Practitioners Group (TIPG) and is a member of the ICAEW’s Compliance & Investigations Committee. He also sits on the HMRC Compliance Reform Forum, which is the main point of engagement between the accountancy/tax profession and HMRC on all new or changed compliance initiatives.

Gary enjoys working collaboratively with other senior professionals to deliver the best results possible for clients.
