Ed Connell

Ed is a Partner in Armstrong Watson’s Restructuring and Insolvency team, bringing over 20 years’ experience advising businesses, lenders and stakeholders across a wide range of sectors. Over this time, he has led complex insolvency, advisory and contingency planning engagements in industries including retail, real estate, manufacturing and leisure.

What sets Ed apart is his combination of advisory and hands-on commercial experience. Prior to joining Armstrong Watson, he spent several years in industry as a Finance Director for Yorkshire-based SMEs operating in property development, construction and leisure. This experience gives him a practical, first-hand understanding of the pressures facing business owners and management teams.

Ed works closely with clients to deliver clear, commercially grounded advice, particularly in situations involving financial stress or operational challenge. He is focused on helping stakeholders navigate uncertainty, protect value and identify the most appropriate course of action, whether that is stabilisation, restructuring or transition.

With a pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach, Ed is valued for his ability to bridge the gap between technical insolvency expertise and real-world business decision-making, supporting clients through critical moments with confidence and clarity.
