Our 2025 survey gathered the views from over 850 business owners throughout the UK. We asked family-owned, privately-owned and owner-managed businesses to share their views on the opportunities and challenges they face – both now and in the next three years – gathering opinion in four key areas: people, technology, innovation and growth, and planning to let go. The responses provide a unique insight into the current focus for those operating independent businesses in the UK, and allow us to better understand their worries, concerns and areas in which they require extra support.
