Tom Blandford Celebrates Winning Yorkshire Accountant of the Year

There were celebrations all round at Armstrong Watson on Thursday evening after the firm’s Legal Sector Director, Tom Blandford was awarded the coveted title of ‘Yorkshire Accountant of the Year’.

The Yorkshire Accountancy Awards are held annually and celebrate the achievements and successes of the region’s best and brightest accountancy practitioners.

Armstrong Watson were very fortunate to be shortlisted as finalists in 3 categories as a firm; Mid-tier Firm of the Year, Advisory Team of the Year and Audit Team of the Year, alongside Tom’s individual nomination for Yorkshire Accountant of the Year.

In summation of Tom’s receipt of this category award, he was praised for being ‘A national leader’ and a ‘go to person in their specialist area.’ The team were also praised as having ‘a unique accreditation, not held by any other accountancy practice in the UK’ in recognition for the Armstrong Watson Legal Sector team’s position as the only accountancy firm to be officially accredited by the Law Society.

Commenting on his win, Tom Blandford, said,

“I am delighted to have been presented this award and particularly gratified to hear the word ‘proactive’ in the judge’s summary. This is certainly something we (and this award isn’t for me, it’s for the whole team) strive for every day. It really is a team effort and it’s fantastic we have been recognised for the work we all put in to make sure that the client comes first and that they receive excellent advice every day.”
