Hayley, who will lead the firm's Corporate Tax team in Newcastle, joins Armstrong Watson after eight years at UNW, where she was a Senior Tax Manager.

Her appointment comes after Corporate Finance Partner David Wilson joined the Newcastle team and following a year of rapid growth in 2023 that saw the firm acquire long-standing accountancy practice Joseph Miller before moving to a new home in the city’s state-of-the-art smart office, One Strawberry Lane.

Having qualified in 2006, training at PwC within Corporate Tax, Hayley has a wealth of experience and has worked with a broad portfolio of clients in a range of industries, including large corporate companies and SMEs.

In her new role, Hayley will be responsible for project management in respect of compliance and advisory service lines, and the development of the corporate tax team. She aims to establish close relationships with clients to offer a proactive and efficient service, linking to other services within the firm as required.

Hayley said: “I am looking forward to working as part of the strong corporate team across the firm’s tax service line to increase our presence in Newcastle. The values of Armstrong Watson really align with my own and the investment in those values and in the North East offering is clear.”

Becky Bowness, Armstrong Watson’s Head of Tax, said: “I am thrilled to have Hayley join our growing tax team. Her track record and commitment to excellent client service coupled with her passion for developing people means she is the perfect person to lead our corporate tax offering in the North East.”

Paul Dickson, Chief Executive and Managing Partner, added: “We are very pleased to have Hayley join us in Newcastle to work with our clients and support them with their tax planning needs.  We have seen strong growth in the city over the past few years and I am really proud of the team in Newcastle and what they have achieved.  Our aim and ambition is to continue to grow in Newcastle and we look forward to more exciting announcements in the next few months.  Hayley brings with her real expertise in supporting clients with their corporate tax needs, working alongside the wider team, which will support our growth over the coming years.”
