About Richard

Based in Armstrong Watson’s head office in Carlisle, Richard heads up the national outsourcing team, working with clients to build virtual finance solutions, through standardisation and automation.

He joined the firm in 2002, starting in Insolvency, having previously worked in this area for HMRC,  before moving to Audit and Assurance and then Accounting, where he gained experience in personal and corporate taxation and accounts.

With an interest in automation and system improvement, inspired by the move to cloud software and technological innovation, Richard has focused on management information and systems, conducting systems reviews for organisations of all sizes, and advising on integrated finance systems, for more than a decade. This includes assisting clients with the Making Tax Digital transition, managing their migration to compliant software, introducing automation, and improving efficiencies in the process.
