About Brendan

Brendan heads up our Pensions Centre of Excellence and works exclusively on pension scheme work. This includes statutory audit work for a wide range of occupational pension schemes, from small, self-administered schemes up to Master Trusts. In addition, he has a wealth of experience with associated work such as risk reviews, internal controls reporting and systems analysis work.

Brendan delivers our internal technical training relating to pension scheme audits and accounting and promoting best practice in the audit of pension schemes, as well as providing technical accounting advice externally. He sits on the Pensions Research Accountant’s Group’s (PRAG) audit technical committee and is well placed to provide up to date advice to you. He is known for his pragmatic approach and is adept at adding value to his clients beyond issuing an audit opinion.

Having joined Armstrong Watson in January 2022, Brendan is responsible for developing Armstrong Watson’s offering to our pension scheme clients. He was appointed as a pension scheme trustee in 2019 and draws on his experience in this role to provide practical advice to his clients.
