About David

Bringing with him nearly a decade of experience in corporate tax, David joined Armstrong Watson in 2025, having relocated to Cumbria from Edinburgh where he worked as a Tax Senior Manager at Johnston Carmichael.

A Chartered Tax Adviser and Chartered Accountant, David advises businesses of all sizes on both compliance matters and complex transactions. His experience spans a wide range of sectors, including food and drink, infrastructure and renewables, and construction and property.

David has a particular interest in the taxation of corporate debt, covering areas such as debt restructuring, convertible debt, and corporate interest restriction. He is committed to delivering proactive, forward‑thinking advice and prides himself on making complex tax matters clear, practical, and accessible for clients.
